Jocelyn Kline: Snowy day didn't stop pies from selling

The forecast on March 21, Good Friday, was for 8 inches of snow and 35 mph winds. Not good pie selling weather, or so we thought.

A big Senior Center thank you goes out to all the Amcore Bank customers and personnel who stopped by our table to buy a home-baked pie. Your thoughtfulness turned a snowy pie day into a successful pie day.

Thank you to all the busy senior participants who ventured out on a blustery day to bring us a pie. Your devotion to the Behring Senior Center is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to Amcore Bank for the use of its front entry, a prime selling spot. And, of course, thanks to all bank personnel for their assistance in getting set up and pie purchases.

Thank you again to everyone for a great show of community support, even if we did have to wear our snow boots.
