Now is the perfect time to join Boy Scouts. I have been a member for two years and it has been great. So far, I learned how to rescue drowning or injured individuals, how to survey a property, about our rights as citizens, and how to build an electrical circuit. I am writing this letter as one of the requirements for the communications merit badge.
My troop, 180, has also done a lot of fun activities such as lock-ins, skiing/tubing, camping mini golf nights, baseball, hockey and basketball games, stock car races, and canoeing.
New scouts are currently registering. Anyone in fifth grade through high school can join. It costs very little to sign up, and fundraisers will cover activity fees. Troops are located in nearly every community. For more information, contact Sheri Baird, (608) 527-5068.
