Is Walker copping out of approaching tough issues?

To the editor:

Has the holiday season mellowed Gov. Scott Walker? Up until now, the Gov. boasted of his courage to make tough decisions. These decisions included the gutting of our public worker unions, cutting education funding and insisting on voter ID requirements. He was even for eliminating same-day voter registration but backed off when he found out how much it would cost. Perhaps now he would abandon his push for voter ID now as it would cost even more than the registration issue.

Now he says he will not take a stand on either side of the gun control issue. Has he really mellowed or is it possible that his A-plus rating from the NRA. has influenced this decision?

I would hope that he can be just as courageous when asked to stand against big money interests as he was in dealing with public employees. Selective courage has another title, which is called "cop out."

I only hope that the next two years of Gov. Walker's term will bring us a more balanced leadership in Madison.

The issues on voting, education, mining infrastructure and gun control must be thoroughly researched so that decisions can be made in the best interest of all of Wisconsin.
