To the editor,
America's spending is out of control. So many citizens do not understand how dangerous our economic practices have become. I recently heard U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde speak on this issue, and I was pleasantly surprised by his message. His charge that America is "addicted to spending" is a startling yet altogether fitting diagnosis. So many politicians do not even recognize our problem, and when they acknowledge our debt, they downplay the severity of the situation.
I am supporting Eric Hovde for U.S. Senate because he is the candidate who can do the most good for this country. He brings a skill set to Washington that has been grossly underrepresented to Congress for years. "Fiscal conservatives" seem to be a dime a dozen in the Republican Party, but fiscal conservative actions are rare. Eric has demonstrated his fiscal chops with more than two decades of private sector business success, and candidates like him don't come around every day. When they do, it is crucial for the future of our nation that we elect them.
