Howard Marklein is best candidate for Assembly

To the editor:

I was glad to discover that Howard Marklein would have the opportunity to run to represent the Monroe area. I appreciate his experience as a CPA and I want to send someone to the state Assembly who has experience working with budgets, businesses, and financials. Howard shares my values of hard work and frugality. We both believe in efficiently using the resources we have. More money does not always solve the problem.

Our state has finally balanced a $3.6 billion budget and held the line on property taxes for the first time in 13 years. Howard voted to support both of these things. It's time we taxpayers got some relief from our property taxes. Businesses are beginning to hire and we can see the job environment improving. In a time where both sides need to work together, Howard has worked with both Democrats and Republicans to pass bills in the best interest of his constituents. We are on the right track and I hope we can send Howard back to the state Assembly to represent the Monroe area.
