GCHS Board: Community steps up to help shelter

The Green County Humane Society board of directors would like to thank the many people who have come forward recently to help our organization. We've been overwhelmed by the generous offers to help from so many people: From community leaders such as John Baumann and Dave Mosher offering assistance; to businesses such as Toffler's in New Glarus and the Roadhouse in Monroe organizing benefits; to young people such as the Brodhead Girl Scouts, Juda students in Mrs. Kranig's Service Learning class and Dominique Schneider in Monroe planning bake sales and the Project World students of Mrs. Whiteman and Mrs. Freitag at Monroe Middle School who help at the shelter; to the many area residents who have rallied to lend a hand and help the animals at our shelter. A special thank you also goes to Mike Jerge, Alphorn Ford, and the anonymous donor, a longtime GCHS member, who arranged for GCHS to receive a much-needed minivan.

We'd also like to thank the many people who have volunteered to foster animals, donated money and shown up to walk dogs in light of the recent dog seizure in Juda that brought 20 dogs to the shelter. You're willingness to step up and help these neglected dogs has been heartwarming.

We can't possibly name all the businesses, organizations and individuals who have helped GCHS, but please know each and every offer to help is deeply appreciated. This wide-reaching coalition of support is making the future very bright for the companion animals we serve.
