Foster Care Coordinator for Green County
Green County's 2010 Toys for Tots Fundraiser to raise money for Green County's Foster Children was a huge success. There was a live auction, door prizes, and raffle items that were all done through the donations individuals and businesses gave, which helped to increase the amount of money that was raised. The Apparitions MC and ABATE of Green County did a wonderful job in organizing our event this year and though we had a limited amount of time in getting everything arranged and contacting donors, we have well exceeded the amounts we have in the past.
This money will help our foster care children in Green County. We are able to help foster families with the costs of transportation of foster children to their appointments, regular and summer school fees, fees for school field trips, helping foster children so that they can participate in various school and extracurricular activities, respite for our families in Green County, and also funds helping our youth that age out of foster care get set up to live on their own, an appreciation picnic for our foster families during Foster Care Appreciation Month in May and many other things.
The toys that were donated through our Toys for Tots Fundraiser helped to ensure that our foster children had a better holiday than they may have had and will also go towards giving them birthday presents throughout the year. Green County was also able to help some needy families through the holiday season so that these children would also have a better holiday than they may have had.
A special thank you goes to the H.O.G. Chapter for putting in for their generous donation and to the Apparitions MC, ABATE of Green County and The Den for organizing and holding the fundraiser, as well as their generous donations, along with the many other individuals and businesses who contributed.
