To the editor:
For the 51st Assembly District, I am voting for Howard Marklein. I am thoroughly impressed with Howard's range of experience. As a CPA, Howard was able to bring a pair of fresh eyes to the state's finances. As a Certified Fraud Examiner, he is able to find fraud in the books. With this experience, he was able to identify areas of fraud, waste, and abuse in our state government. I think all of us will agree that those who require assistance and need some help should receive it. However, those that would defraud the system deserve to be punished. To prioritize jobs, Howard used his experience working with small businesses to support legislation that led to job growth in our community. Howard also sits on the authority board for a hospital. In a time of uncertainty regarding health care reform, someone who works directly with the medical industry is a valuable resource in the State Assembly.
I appreciate Howard's ability to utilize his experiences to represent us. Lafayette County is very lucky to have a representative in Howard Marklein. I hope that you will join me in voting for him on Nov. 6. We need to send him back to Madison to represent us.
