A flower which over the past month and a half came into full bloom: As one watched the cast and crew of "The Monroe Gold Files!" you saw a seeding become a beautiful flower. Not just for the cast and crew, but for all of our community.
Just a side note: Yours truly overcame a mental block during the play in pronouncing the word Edelweiss. Thank goodness.
On Thursday, Nov. 13, a proclamation from the City of Monroe was presented to the cast and crew. It read as follows:
You Found the Real Gold
Whereas, the play "The Monroe Gold Files!" found the real gold of our community; and
Whereas, it is acknowledged by all the commitment and dedication of playwriters Stephen and Katee Eliasson and directors Nadine and Troy Whiteman in help finding that real gold; and
Whereas, it is acknowledged by all the unselfish giving of all members of the cast and crew for their giving of their time, talents and enthusiasm in finding the real gold; and
Whereas, the real gold found is the City of Monroe's "community spirit."
Now, therefore, the Common Council of the City of Monroe proclaims that this real gold, our "community spirit," be locked up forever in our hearts and minds to be shared with every individual we meet; and
Be it resolved, that it is the duty and the honor of all citizens of Monroe to pass this "community spirit" on to our future generations.
The sentiments presented in this proclamation apply to all of our citizens.
Thanks again to all for help growing such a beautiful flower.
