David Vitse: Tell us your global warming stories

As the cold and difficult winter season quickly melts away it is thankfully time to start thinking about the warmth and relaxation of summer in Wisconsin. We have to admit that it has been quite a weather rollercoaster this year. Because of these unpredictable weather patterns it is clear that global warming is impacting our daily lives.

Perhaps, you have noticed flowers blooming earlier, wetlands and small lakes that have dried up or shrank significantly, altered weather patterns or changing migration patterns of native animals. These substantial changes to Wisconsin's environment could be the result of global warming; that is why we need your experiences to guide our critical research.

Take a few minutes to share your specific global warming examples. Assist us to accurately reveal the global warming issues directly facing the residents of Wisconsin. You do not need proof that your stories are caused by global warming; that is what we are looking into. Last summer, the intergovernmental panel on climate change spoke with scientific authority on the broad implications of global warming. Now we need to hear from you and your neighbors about how climate change may be affecting our daily lives here in Wisconsin.

Please email us at wiswarm@cleanwisconsin.org or call us at (608) 251-7020 ext. 18 to tell us your global warming story today. Your contribution will help ensure that future generations can experience and enjoy summers in Wisconsin.
