While researching a personal matter, I ran across a study by the SPLC, the Southern Poverty Law Center, a respected national civil rights organization, that declared there is an active chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in Monroe. Their formal name is the United Northern and Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
This is a disgrace to Green County. Every politician in the county should condemn the presence of such thugs. Every political body in the county should pass resolutions condemning their presence here in Green County. It's hard to believe that in the 21st century, people are so pathetic. Why is it so many people cannot live without believing that they are better than everybody else?
