It has been proven that cigarette smoke is harmful to your health. The majority of people in Wisconsin do not smoke, and many smokers are trying to quit. Shouldn't we try to cut down on health-care costs?
Most businesses are in favor of a smoking ban because they know it will cut their costs for cleaning and health care. Only the Tavern League is opposed.
Both Minnesota and Illinois already have put the ban into effect. Many cities in Wisconsin have done so. Both Appleton and Green Bay say they have no negative business loss from this ban.
After obstructing the passage of a state budget until it was months late, isn't it time this do-nothing Assembly did something worthwhile for a change? It's time they listened to the majority for a change instead of selling their votes to the highest bidder.
