A barb to the vandals >who stole a green glass globe from our fenced-in back yard. They dropped the concrete pedestal in the center of the lawn. Maybe some dark night they will come and get that. - Anonymous>

A huge blossom to all of you who recognize >the great things that Peggy Miller does for animals. She has the biggest heart in the world when it comes to animals. She has helped me through her ENAH program to help animals in need. In May, I found a baby kitten in the middle of the road. I did not have much hope for him. I called Peggy, and she was more than happy to look at him and give her opinion. After a quick vet visit for some meds, he is doing wonderfully. Without her I would not be able to help as many animals as I have over the years. I do my best to contribute to her nonprofit organization so she and others involved can continue to help control our pet population. Funds always are appreciated to continue the work that ENAH does. Spay and neuter cats and dogs. You and your whole family have always been an asset to the community. - Lorraine Scott>

A big blossom to the ladies in the Iowa car >who came to the high school here in Monroe and, out of the goodness of their heart, cleaned under and around the bleachers by the football field and put the trash where it belongs, in the garbage receptacles. I say thank you. - Jenell Shippy>

A blossom to my customers >who have braved the road construction to attend Kookaburra's cooking classes. Thank you for your support. - Laura>

Not only a blossom to your customers, Laura, but a blossom to all the businesses cooperating >and staying open during this construction, and to E&N Hughes >for being so accommodating when they can. - Jeff Ditzenberger, Monticello>

A barb to the Green County Humane Society Board of Directors. >Where else would a dues-paying member be admonished and threatened with expulsion from the meeting for simply requesting a board member to "speak up?" I also question when the courtesy of sharing informational handouts with the attending public was abolished. - Anonymous>

A big bunch of blossoms to Walmart >for bringing sensible prices to the automotive and garden care supply market. I bought a battery there for $32 and got a $5 rebate on the old one. - James>
