A barb, no, actually a fang, to the State Legislature for Assembly Bill 502 and Senate Bill SB 411 which proposes killing wolves through firearms, bows and arrows, crossbows, baiting, trapping and clubbing animals to death, as well as the use of dog packs for tracking and trailing and places the dogs in a position of being killed. But no worry, you the taxpayer will pay about a $2,400 reimbursement per dog. Anti-wolf groups try to play off bear/wolf/coyote hunting as tradition. If that is tradition, then what is persecution? I thought dog fighting was illegal in this state. What a rude awakening. Aldo Leopold must be rolling in his grave. The usual suspects are behind the onslaught: the hunting lobbies who are demonizing wolves for more trophy hunting and heads to hang on the wall. This bill will give Wisconsin a black eye and will have a negative effect on the state's vital tourism industry. For that, you can thank the Wisconsin bear hunter clubs and their personal vendettas, Safari Club International One Per-Centers and the likes of The Wisconsin Wildlife Federation. Hunters are the minority and the majority of Americans, according to the Pew Poll, want wildlife protection. This bill violates our state Constitution where all wildlife belongs to us, not just politicians and hunters. It also violates the Voigt Intertribal Task Force that comprises 10 of the 11 federally recognized Ojibwe member tribes in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan. What a shame that this majestic animal should be a fugitive in the land it shared with the indigenous peoples centuries before the white man came and ruined this incredible country. I would like to gratefully thank Sen. Erpenbach for voting no on this cruel and barbaric bill.- Anonymous

A big blossom to the ER when I went last Saturday evening. They took my blood pressure; it was very high. They took me right back and put me on a heart machine, EKG and blood work. They kept me overnight for observation. Got a CT scan on my head, thought I had a virus and stayed another night. I also want to give a big blossom to the hospital doctors - I had excellent care from the doctors and nurses and CNA. They did a great job. I want to give my doctor that I see also at the Monroe Clinic a big blossom and a blossom to the pharmacy. They help me whenever I need the right kind of vitamin or help by the driver. They are very good to me.

A big blossom to Gov. Walker. He said what he was going to do and he did just that - cut the budget. I don't know what he did wrong: Everybody should pay their share for their pension and insurance. - Allen Schroeder

A barb against The Monroe Times for constantly printing the Tea Party crony Republican rants of Anonymous. You cannot respect anyone who is not willing to stand up for his own beliefs, no matter how ridiculous they are. We already know he doesn't get it. We don't need a weekly reminder of this. - Dave Searles
