A big barb: My mom left a local store. Just down the street, a car was parked. A man got out and flagged her to stop. She stopped and asked if he needed help. He said, "You hit my car in the parking lot." She said, "No, I didn't, but follow me to where my daughter is waiting for me." He did follow to a nearby store. My sister looked at his car, which was badly damaged. My mom's car didn't have a scratch on it. The police were called to investigate, and before they got there the man left. I sure believe he was looking for someone, anyone, to pay for his car's damage. Seems like a real scam. Beware. - Anonymous
A barb to the Fair Board. Handicapped parking is nonexistent, because it was on the wrong side of the parking area. The purpose of handicapped parking is to have it closest to the entrance of the event; this is a state and federal law. After two weeks of whining from the board president, you would think this problem would have been solved before the fair started. Also, for one day at the fair, it cost $19 for two adult tickets and a parking ticket. This is ridiculous! - No respect to handicap people
A big thorny barb to all motorcycle drivers and riders. If they make a law not to text and drive or even a seat belt law, why don't we have a law saying people should have to wear helmets? On a motorcycle you don't have any protection if you crash, where cars you do, so again why isn't this a law? Just wondering. - T from Monroe
A huge fragrant blossom to the very kind people who bring vegetables and fruits to the residents of St. John's Garden Apartments. They are greatly appreciated. - A resident
A resounding barb to the BID district for playing the music from the Courthouse too loud. The music is so loud, especially on the east side, that you can't hold a conversation with the person standing next to you. Whatever the problem is in controlling the volume on both sides of the Courthouse, it needs to be fixed. I would think you'd like to have the music inviting, and as a pleasant background to shopping or visiting. Instead it's nearly painful. - Anonymous
A barb to Governor Walker. Gov. Walker wanted and signed into law Voter ID. This law has made it difficult for minority, senior citizens, college students, and others to get a voter ID. Now Walker is closing ten DMV stations throughout Wisconsin, which are being closed in the Democratic areas and extending work hours in the Republican areas. Gov. Walker has lied in his campaign speech about creating 250,000 jobs in Wisconsin. By closing these stations, he isn't only taking jobs away, but is adding frustrations for these people to get their free voter ID. I believe the ALEC group is instructing Gov. Walker to make these decisions and treat Wisconsinites in this manner. - Disgusted Voter
A big fat barb to the Green County Aging center. I called to get ride to the doc in Madison. No matter how many times I call, they can never do it. Do these people really help anyone? Maybe we should send our tax money some place else? Only person who ever helped me was Diane and now she is gone. - Anonymous
A big blossom to everyone who brought tractors and equipment to display at the Green County Fair. There was a nice variety of makes and models. A big thank you to Jim Faith and friends that brought old gas engines. It was amazing to see these old engines restores and running. Jim kept them oiled and running like new every evening. - Bernard Albright
