A blossom to WEKZ >for airing interviews with some of our elected representatives so we may get their views on the state of our state and nation. Along with that, I do believe that Scott Thompson >deserves a barb for his verbal assault on Tammy Baldwin during the interview aired on Thursday, Jan. 8. - Glen A. Spring, Albany>

Another barb against those >who still will not clear plowed snow from the ends of sidewalks. Apparently, plowed snow does not count when it comes to the sidewalk ordinance. It does not have to be cleared as wide as the sidewalk, just wide enough to walk through, as wide as the snow blower or a shovel. - Dave Searles, Brodhead>

A huge warm blossom >to all the people whose careers require them to work outside NO matter what the conditions! From the emergency services personnel, to the farmers, to the crossing guards that keep our children safe. Our hats off (briefly, only because it's cold) to you for all you do!

A blossom to the road crews >in the area for putting forth an excellent effort to try and keep our roads and streets snow- and ice-free, which I might add has not been a very easy task this winter.

A blossom to the Monroe school district and its teachers >for making parent-teacher conferences more accommodating.

A blossom to a couple of the Green County Highway workers >who have helped a couple people in need. One of them pulled a bit of snow out of the way when our skid loader got stuck in the ditch (long story and I wasn't operating it), to save it from getting hit or causing another mishap, and to another worker who stopped and turned on his strobe and flashers to slow traffic down after a car slid in the ditch and was trying to get out. Which brings me to ...

A barb to drivers >who don't slow down for plows, emergency vehicles or accident scenes.

And finally, a blossom to all the motorists >who take the time to clean off their windshields, hoods AND lights before traveling out after a snowfall. - Jeff Ditzenberger, Monroe>
