A barb to Recall Walker: In Wisconsin, he inherited the most debt per person of all 50 states, so something had to happen, as we don't need to go the way the U.S. government is going. He should be given a chance, as we gave our president a three-year chance. - Anonymous

A huge barbb to the sportscasters for the Badger-Penn State football game. We tuned in to watch the game and not have to listen to all the garbage about Penn State the two sportscasters discussed during ever lull in the game. U.W. asked for every one to show respect for Penn State players and fans, which I hope was shown to them. Penn State played hard right down to the end and I applaud them for their efforts. I think the sportscasters owe an apology to the Penn State fans, families and players for their rehashing of the scandal which had nothing to do with the game. Shame on them. It is time for the legal system to fix this horrible tragedy and not the media. Go Badgers. - Marifay

We would like to send a bouquet of blossoms to our family, friends, neighbors, church, local businesses and area service groups for the generous support which enabled us to get a service dog for our son, Griffin. The support from everyone was an incredible blessing. Griffin and his dog Gus have been together for a couple of weeks and they have really hit it off. - Scott and Katie Jacobson

A blossom to Monroe. What a great town. I came to Monroe to place Gus, an autism service dog, with the Jacobson family. I spent nine days working with the Jacobsons as well as school staff and home therapists. I was very impressed with the Monroe Middle School staff and students. Everyone there was very respectful of Griffin and his new service dog and followed the rules of not touching or petting Gus while he is working, so an additional blossom to Monroe Middle School staff and students. A special thank you to Katie and Scott Jacobson, as well as the Super 8 Motel, for making my stay in Monroe so comfortable. As much as I miss Gus and his sweet face, I smile knowing he is helping Griffin every day, living with such a great family and going to a school with so many wonderful people. - Kati Rule-Witko, Executive Director and Placement Specialist, Autism Service Dogs of America, Lake Oswego, Oregon

A barb to the recall people on 16th Avenue by the library. When asked to give five reasons for the Walker recall, one of them could not give any and the other said he could give me talking points, which are not reasons, although he gave me his reason because he knew when Walker was elected it would be bad for Wisconsin. That is the only reason to get me to sign a petition. Fat chance. Why don't we have election every two years than there will be no need for recalls? A new trend has started - if you don't like the outcome of an election, go into recall mode. - Anonymous

A huge and heartfelt blossom to the incredibly compassionate and understanding officer from the Green County Sheriff's Department who was on the receiving end of my call for assistance last Monday evening. We had what could best be described as an odd situation at our business in the middle of the night, and he could not have been more willing to help. I am so sorry that I neglected to get his name, but you know who you are and I just thought everyone else should know that if you need help in the middle of the night, rest assured that there will be a truly kind and interested soul on the other end of the phone. Again thank you so very much officer on behalf of all of us at New Glarus Motors. - Anonymous

I had to deal with the humane society again. I found a small kitten who was very friendly. Called and got the answering machine which said they we open. Put the kitten in the carrier and took it down. We were told we had to call the police before they could take it. (What were they going to do, arrest it for vagrancy?) Went directly to the police department with the kitten. My husband went in while I stayed in the car with the kitten. The officer was very nice and called the humane society to tell them we were bringing it back. Tell me, what was the sense of this? The officer never even came out to see the kitten, but I thanked him for his help. Took the kitten back to the humane society and the woman running the show was not happy to see us. She was very rude and short with us. I guess if she doesn't like dealing with the public she should find another job. She opened up her pet carrier for my husband to put the kitten in and complained because the kitten had mattery eyes. Said it was a very sick cat. Someone must have dumped him because he was a cuddler and a happy cat. Not mean or scared as a feral cat might be. What are us animal lovers supposed to do, just ignore all these animals? We also heard her tell someone it is $75 to adopt a cat. I know it costs money to care for them, but if their fees were not so high, maybe more would be adopted. So, this is a big barb for the humane society and a big thorn for the rude woman they have greeting the public. Your rudeness was intolerable. - Anonymous

This is a barb for the jerk or jerks who are cutting the wires on my Christmas decorations. This is really funny because I laugh every time I have to replace one of the candycanes because of what you have done. It won't be so funny when you get caught and charged for vandalism because that is what you are doing. I am sure that the person or persons who have done this will need someone to read this to you because of the stupidity you have shown. I feel sorry for whoever is doing this because you have nothing else better in your life to do than vandalize things. You must be a real winner. - Ray Legler

A blossom to Kaylie, a Sunday school student at Browntown Peace Church. She must attend the same class as Ben and their teacher has to be Janet. Thanks for the homemade cards that made this old lady's day. Also a blossom to Laura with a homemade card with a turkey on the front of it helping to make my Thanksgiving day. All cares were homemade all were very special. It goes to prove the great surprises comes in small envelopes. - Josie
