Blossoms & Barbs: Aug. 24, 2013

A blossom to Turner Hall, one of Monroe's finest treasures. This non-profit 501(c)(3) organization is not only a building of great historical significance, but also does a fabulous job of hosting groups large and small. At a wedding reception recently, people from all over commented on its beauty (and the delicious food). Residents of Monroe may overlook it, but we highly recommend making it one of your "go-to" places. - Jerry and Patti Casselberry

The members of the Green County Genealogical Society who were on the tour of the Chalet of the Golden Fleece on Aug. 7 would like to give a blossom to Peter Etter for his very informative tour and Linda Schiesser for her added insight and commentary. The Chalet and its contents are a treasure and we urge anyone who hasn't seen it to take the tour and support this magnificent piece of history. - Sherry Anderegg
