Blossoms to Tim Sanft. His subject is exactly what everyone is grumbling about. These are the problems that every homeowner and taxpayer is suffering from and complains about. Even those who are easily influenced by the radical left are suffering, but they won't admit it. Way to go, Tim. - Bob Slocum

An enormous blossom to Dave and the entire staff at Gates Auto Body in Monroe. We had a vehicle involved in an accident with a whitetail, and referred repairs to Gates. Not only was the work done ahead of time, it was done very well. These guys are artisans, and Dave was very thorough, concise and considerate throughout the entire process. I hope no one needs body work, but if you do, I would strongly urge you to use Gates. They deserve the business! - Mick McClain

A barb to The Monroe Times. When the Times publishes an editorial in the "Our View" section, I would like to know just who this "our" is referring to. Is "Our View" the view of all the Times employees or is it just one person? If it is just one person, then maybe the section should be labeled "My View" and please tell us who the "my" refers to. If this is indeed one person's view, that sure is a lot of power for one person to have and not let us know who you are. I encourage all those who submit to sign their names on their piece, be it a barb or a blossom or an opinion. - John Prien

Many blossoms to the Monroe Theatre Guild who had the foresight to renovate the J.C. Penney building into a theater which brought "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown" to life on a set originally and creatively designed for the actors who played their respective parts so well accompanied by background piano music and to their director. Thank you Monroe Theatre Guild for an enjoyable performance. - Dorothy Trumpy

A bouquet of blossoms to Keanah Bates and her family and friends. You see, Keanah is in the children's hospital in Madison were she is bravely fighting against leukemia and blood clots in her heart. Heaven has enough angels for the time being, let's try and keep it that way. Please join me in keeping Keanah and her family in our thoughts and prayers. For those fortunate enough, please stop by the spaghetti supper benefit and silent auction for Keanah this Saturday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. Thank you! - R.M.

I would like to give a huge barb to Gov. Walker and the Republican lawmakers for not disclosing the truth behind Walker's plan. The Republicans want all of the power and a one-party system of government. The unions donate campaign money to the Democrats and without that money, the Democrats will have difficulty getting elected. The Republicans have also passed a photo I.D. requirement in order to vote. Unfortunately, the poor will have difficulty meeting this requirement and the poor residents of our state historically vote for the Democrats. This whole plan is about taking democracy and balance out of the state government. A one-party system of government will not benefit anyone who resides in Wisconsin. Lastly, I voted for Walker and I now apologize to the residents of Wisconsin for that mistake. - Republican for democracy

A barb against taxpayer: You are another coward that does not have the guts to use your real name. There are federal employee unions and federal employees who do belong to unions. Jimmy Carter did not do away with them. Permanent national park rangers that I have worked with when I was serving in seasonal national park ranger positions belong to a union. The union asked me to join and I would have if I was become a permanent national park ranger. Collective bargaining and public employees unions have been around for decades with no serious calls to do away with them. Walker never campaigned, at least publicly announced, that this was his intention to virtually end collective bargaining and public employee unions. If he had, he would have never been, barely, elected. I've heard that many who did vote for him have said that if he had declared his intention to do this during the campaign, that they would have not voted for him. As for my comment on what is next that big business and corporations want their Republican stooges to go after: eliminating the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th and 14th amendments, they are going after child labor laws in some states. It not a far reach after that to slavery. This has nothing to do with race. It is people like you that have to play the race card. When I say slavery, I mean that that big business and corporations want to make us all slaves to them, more so than we are already becoming. Also, Jimmy Carter was not a conservative. He was moderate to progressive. Thank you for taking the time to read and to consider this matter. - Dave Searles
