A big blossom to all the people who gave items for the Woman to Woman project> sponsored by the DAR. Thank you, members of our local Benjamin Harrison Chapter, and community residents, Pick 'n Save for allowing us to have a collection box in their store for several months, and to the lovely gift basket from Dick's Piggly Wiggly. I am sure the women soldiers will appreciate all the donations you have given them. At the state DAR meeting in May, we are hoping to take our project over the top with more than 1,000 pounds. Thanks, again. - Christie Strait, Monroe>
A blossom to the Monroe School District>on the success of its annual Child Development Days. What a proactive, fun and kid-friendly way to screen and access young children for developmental needs. The early childhood specialists, along with the speech and language pathologists, were wonderful while "playing" with the children. Thank you to the Monroe School District for your passion to help our children. - Happy Parents>
A blossom to the Monroe Middle School students from Nadine Whiteman's and Deb Freitag's Project World class> who volunteered to help with Monroe Theatre Guild's recent work day. As part of their community service for the class, the students spent three hours on a Saturday morning helping MTG members move props and scenery from our storage shed to our building. We couldn't have done it without their hard work, and their enthusiasm made it a fun time for everyone! Thank you so much! - MTG Board of Directors>
A blossom to Tofflers in New Glarus, Full Compass in Middleton and The Roadhouse and Papa Don's Horseshoe in Monroe> for hosting recent fund-raisers to benefit the Green County Humane Society. Money raised from their efforts will be used to purchase much needed equipment at the animal shelter. We thank these businesses, and their many patrons who helped make these events successful. Also, a blossom to the Green County Leaders Group consisting of Sara Andersen, Tammy Derrickson, Scott Gelbach, Lisa Grochola, Angie Meyer and Sherri Salzwedel, that recently surveyed Green County residents on their thoughts and opinions of GCHS. We will be using the information gathered in this survey to help guide us as we continue to move toward the future. Having an outside group prepare, conduct and compile results from the survey was an invaluable service for GCHS and we are truly thankful. And finally, 635 blossoms, one for each household that responded to the Green County Leaders' survey. We depend on your input to help strengthen GCHS and in turn better serve our companion animals that need forever homes. Thank you for taking the time to respond to the survey! - The Green County Humane Society Board of Directors>
A real sharp barb to Brian Gray> for stating it's time for Hillary to quit the race. - Arnold Fryer, Monroe>
