I feel like I have hit a "jackpot of blossoms." I would like to thank all of the many wonderful people and businesses that pitched in to make Habitat For Humanity of Green County's first "Casino Night" a huge success last Saturday night. First and foremost, I would like to thank one last time all of the businesses that showed their support to our Casino Night. Whether you were an exclusive table sponsor, you donated food and beverage, or you donated one of our giveaway prizes, we truly do appreciate your support and we realize that without your support our event would not even have been possible. Secondly, I would like to thank all of you that attended and participated in our Casino Night. We had a very successful turnout that far exceeded our expectations going into our first Casino Night. More than 130 people came out to enjoy a night full of fun and excitement and they showed us how to have a great time while also helping out a great cause. It was awesome to look around and see every table full of people laughing, smiling, and shouting out the occasional cheer after a big win. There was an overwhelming amount of people wanting to be sure we had another Casino Night next year. It feels great to know that the people in attendance enjoyed it so much that they are already locked in for next year's event. Lastly, I would like to thank everybody who helped out by volunteering their time and efforts. No matter how big or small of part you played, the important thing is that we worked well together as a team and it all came together to make it a successful night. Again, many thanks to many people - we couldn't have done it without you. - Dan DeMuth

A blossom to the Woodford State Bank. In response to the Unhappy Customer, I give Woodford Bank credit for recognizing how to utilize your employees and not just say we are down-sizing and you no longer have a job. Sometimes we don't see the whole picture of the economy. I'm proud of Woodford State Bank and what we stand for. Good service and a friendly and caring staff. I've been employed at the bank for 27 years and only working in Woodford for my first month of employment, it would sadden me to ever see the Woodford branch close. I would hope that I never do. But I've seen the ups and downs of business and there are hard decisions to make. I know customer service is a number one priority and I give the board of directors credit for keeping our bank strong. I know that whatever decisions are made will not please everyone, but keeping us strong is important. Due to decisions made we have expanded our branches for convenient customer service. A proud employee and stockholder and not afraid to sign my name - Marci Ziltener

On Sunday, my wife and I went to the Wiota Lutheran Church for their meatball dinner. When we had our tickets and went to the dining room door, we were met by a very nice young lady of high-school age named Chaestra. She took us to a table and I said "We have never been here before. How does this work?" She said, "be seated and we will bring the food to you." Right away, there were two or three other ladies helping Chaestra bring large plates and bowls of food to the table. Everything was very good and it was extremely pleasing to see so many young adults helping with the dinner. Super big blossoms to Chaestra and everyone else who helped in any way with the dinner. We are looking forward to going to their next meal on Palm Sunday. - Bill and Gloria Riese

I would give a blossom to Sergio Marchionne who turned Chrysler around and added thousands of jobs to the U.S.A. Especially in Belvidere, Ill. which will build the 2013 Dodge Dart, Jeep Compass, and the Jeep Patriot. President Obama showed courage and wisdom supporting Chrysler when others would have let Chrysler declare bankruptcy with a loss of needed jobs in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. - Phil Fransen
