Bill is only hope for state

Scott Walker and this bill is our only hope for Wisconsin. The unions got their foot in the door 50-plus years ago in the public sector, which they never should have been in the first place according to a revered Democrat - Franklin D. Roosevelt. It's not in the U.S. Constitution - it's not in the Wisconsin Constitution. It was a privilege granted to public employees via statue in 1959.

I never realized the facts until this bill came up. Why did the unions so quickly back down on teachers paying more for their health care and pensions? It's because the unions realized that they are getting exposed and they are losing the information battle. They have had a stranglehold on schools through the collective bargaining, forcing public employees to join the unions and forcing schools to use their more expensive health insurance. Why not let the schools use the best health insurance to cut costs? Why not give the employees a choice about joining a union? That's what Scott Walker wants to do - freedom of choice. The workers will still have collective bargaining on their salaries.

When a school hires anyone, the union forces the school to use the union's job descriptions. Why not hire someone who can perform multiple tasks instead of hiring one person for this task - one person for that task. That's the way it's done in the private sector. If you don't think most of us in the private sector don't wear multiple hats, guess again. The unions had their time and place in history. They were at one time a good, honest, decent organization looking out for the worker when working conditions were not good. Now, they are powerful and corrupt and they are not worried about the teachers or the students. They are just looking out for themselves.
