BadgerCare cuts would be sad twist

I got a post card recently from Dan Henke, a Republican who's running for the state legislature.

Mr. Henke wants to cut government spending - something most everyone agrees on - but he doesn't say what he plans to cut.

There may be a reason - the bulk of the state budget funds health care for our kids and families and our schools to teach the next generation of job creators.

This would be a sad twist of irony. A Republican goes to Madison, gets taxpayer funded health care coverage and then turns around and cuts funding for BadgerCare which makes sure kids and working class folks can afford to go to the doctor when they need to.

The Republican candidate for Governor has already said he will cut BadgerCare. Does Mr. Henke, Republican candidate for State Assembly agree?

If moms and dads working two or three jobs to put food on the table have their health care taken away, then so should our politicians.
