As we come to the end of our 2007-2008 sport season, we wish to give credit to Green County Special Olympic athletes for a "job well done" during the Athletics (track-n-field) sport season.
Windy and rainy conditions welcomed 12 Green County Special Olympic athletes (from the Albany, Brooklyn, Monroe and Wiota areas) to Area Athletic competition at the Oregon High School track during May.
Area Athletics competition gave the athletes an opportunity to show off their expertise in walking and running events, as well as field events acquired from practices held during the months of March and April. Athletes' placements in 10 competition events are as follows:
1. Softball throw: Anita Bonjour, first; Steve Faessler, third; William Flisram, first; Ashley Martin, first;
