A nice day in Monroe

The people we are meeting as we collect signatures for Scott Walker's recall are remarkable.

Today a young couple stopped on their way to get their marriage license. They saw our table in front of the library and thought it was a priority to sign the petition before going to the court house. We met a young mother of five with a baby on her back. We chatted with the baby as she signed the papers.

We are hearing stories from people form all walks of life: doctors, seniors, factory workers, businessmen, nurses, teachers, delivery truck drivers, and the unemployed. They talk about their unhappiness with Walker's measures.

Throughout the afternoon, cars stop and people get out, eager to sign. There is a strong feeling of community in Monroe. The time has finally come when we can do something.
