It's been a couple of days since I've posted something from the editor's desk. It's been a crazy couple of days here at the Times. We've had computer server issues, Internet interruptions and e-mail shutdowns.
It sounds cliched, I know, but you really don't realize how much you depend on technology working correctly until it doesn't. It's made for a fairly miserable week.
It certainly made it more of a challenge for us to set up two new features we unveiled Thursday. If you haven't already noticed, we now have a PDF file of our weekly On Entertainment TV guide section posted online, as well as a link to a Zap2It site with updated listings and a wealth of television information. Just look for new icons for both links near the top of the left-hand navigation bar.
I think they're both neat additions to our Web site.
So, too, is this year's "Source" magazine, which also is published in today's newspaper and online. The magazine, a perennial award-winner in the Wisconsin Newspaper Association contest, is the work of Times Features Editor Mary Jane Grenzow and our advertising department and features boatloads of information about life in Green and Lafayette counties. It's a handy piece that we'll make available year-round on our Web site.
