Received a novel thought in a strange place Wednesday.
While attending the Chamber of Commerces first City/County Breakfast Update at The Roadhouse in Monroe, I was in the bathroom following the presentation. An attendant made an interesting observation about the over-one-hour discussion we had just heard.
The businessman asked me something along the lines of, Why are there so many groups saying the same thing? I wish there was one voice or one Web site to go to for information.
Thats a good point for discussion. Why are there so many groups, like the Chamber, Monroe Main Street, Green County Development Corporation and the city, to name a few, all representing Monroe and its business community? And all saying the same types things.
Can the message they are projecting become lost with too many voices crying out?
Some would argue, no; you can never have too many advocates, but this man a businessman, possibly an owner had a compelling point from the perspective of the people the numerous groups are trying to represent.
