Just finished spending a few minutes looking at a new feature on the Monroe Main Street Web site called the Downtown Traffic Info page.
Main Street Executive Director Barb Nelson has started what she says will be day-to-day updates of construction and traffic changes in downtown Monroe related to the streetscape project.
As Barb says in todays post, the city is removing parking meters today as needed to install a new water line on the inner parking area of the Square. Parking in the work area will be unavailable, but there will be normal traffic flow around the Square.
Starting Monday, the water line work begins and westbound traffic on 10th Street will not be able to exit the Square, but will have access to the inner lane of 16th Avenue.
The page includes an interactive map of the downtown area.
This page is a great idea, and youll be able to access it from our site, as well, by clicking on the Monroe Main Street logo on the right side of our Home Page, which will take you to the Main Street Web site. Then click on Downtown Traffic Info.
