Some TV contracts need to go

What is prime time and what is no time?

Brewers/Cubs = prime time

Bucks/Thunder = no time & Bulls Bobcats = no time.

However, both the Brewers provider (FSN) and Cubs (WGN) felt that their contract with the NBA was more important than an early season marquee game from a league doing much better financially and ratings-wise.

Saturday night, FSN aired the awful Bucks/Thunder game.

The only potential exciting aspect of this game was that Kevin Durant was playing for Oklahoma City. Regardless, there were probably 19 total viewers to that game - and 12 were likely friends and family of either Durant or Ramon Sessions, the Bucks prospering guard.

Either way, that game should not have been televised as Milwaukee is 33-47 and was eliminated from playoff contention a week ago (technically). The Bucks actually have been long out of playoff contention - as soon as they started a wretched 4-16 slide since the start of March.

Even though Milwaukee beat the Thunder 115-98, Oklahoma Citys record was still 22-57 coming into the game and even further out of playoff contention in the West.

Hardly a reason to watch.

However, the Brewers and Cubs were each tied at 2-2 in the very early part of the season. Despite being just 1-16th of the way through the year, this game was still a rivalry game when people pay a ton of attention to the game. April, August and September are the three months that most fans pay attention to baseball and make the most noise.

So here we are, I-94 rivalry, Saturday night, and unless you live in the Milwaukee market and could watch the game on WMLW, your only options to follow the game live were to have paid $135 dollars before the season for MLB.tv, listen to the game on the radio, or follow the game cast live on the internet from any one of the top sports websites.

Me, I had to intermix all three. Being a night game, I lost the AM signal for the radio in the fifth inning and was forced to check on the score every few minutes with the game cast while my spouse sat online.

All because WGN decided the Bulls were worth watching and FOX Sports took a cue from Fox News on showing its watchers what it wants to show them - not what the audience wants and should see.

It doesnt matter that the ugliest, most dirty-foot tasting team in all of sports, the Cubs, won it in the ninth inning, I still wanted to watch the game. I wanted to watch the Brewers. I wanted to watch Dave Bush, Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder and even Mike Rivera. Instead, I had to watch my computer refresh every 30 seconds with a potential update.

To the TV stations and their awesome contracts which they should have broken anyway, in the words of Stephanie Tanner of Full House, How rude!

**Update**

Monday's game against Cincinnati will also not be televised on FSN due to the Bucks/Magic game. Aye carumba!
