A reader comment from Jay Leopold last Friday caused a mini-commotion in the Times newsroom.
After reading our story about Randy Pink creating a Lambeau Field replica in the snow in front of his Monroe home, Mr. Leopold posted this comment online:
Are you sure the hat Randy is wearing is not a Miami Dolphins hat? Looks like to me and everybody at the cheese factory I work at. If it is a good reporter or photo man would have had it off out of the picture. Was good for a laugh.
Well ...
I looked at the photo first in our newspaper and thought maybe Mr. Leopold was right. The color reproduction did loook slightly like aqua and red rather than green and gold. Everyone else in the newsroom remained convinced it was a Packers hat, and not a Dolphins hat.
Mary Jane Grenzow, who is indeed a good reporter, insisted it was a Packers hat and not a Dolphins hat.
Brenda Steurer, who while a good photographer is not a photo man, confirmed it. This morning she brought a hard copy of a closeup photo of Pink with his hat. Im looking at it now. Theres a Big G logo surrounded by the words Division Champions and NFL 2007 and NFC North.
