Obama's trip
Placeholder Image
Its been less than two weeks since Barack Obama ended his trip to the Middle East and Europe. On the campaign trail, it seems more like two months. Since then the candidates have moved onto much more important topics than international relations, such as Obamas celebrity, tire pressure and the Miss Buffalo Chip contest.

I hope you noted the sarcasm.

Obamas trip overseas was the subject of our online news poll question for the past week. We asked online readers whether they thought the trip would help or hurt Obamas campaign, or whether it wouldnt have any impact.

The most votes (66, 38 percent) favored the trip helping Obamas campaign. Thirty six percent said it wont impact his campaign which probably is the answer I would agree with. Its far too early for the trip to have an impact on the outcome of the election. Most people have forgotten about it already.

There were 46 people (26 percent) who responded that the trip would hurt Obamas campaign. I dont see how that can be. I think anyone inclined to vote against Obama would probably find fault in anything he did and probably thinks (or hopes) the trip will hurt him. I dont think the trips going to influence anyone still on the fence about Obama and McCain either way.

I also noted that the vote totals in this news poll may have been the lowest weve had yet. Which suggests to me that Obamas trip isnt necessarily a hot topic, further suggesting that its impact on the November election will be minimal at best.

What do you think about Obamas trip?

What do you think about the campaign so far in general? I have many thoughts, but Id rather read what you have to say.
