Boy, it's getting tough now!
Kristy Lee, who I've been predicting for weeks would be soon gone, pulled off a major coup last night. She performed well, on a song that suited her well. She's still not the best singer, but Simon was right when he said she looked like a star. She's got the look and is comfortable on stage, making her very easy to watch.
Ditto Michael Johns. I disagree with Randy - I thought his cover of "Dream On" was spot on. He did a great job and I really enjoy hearing him sing these old "standards" from bands like Aerosmith and Queen.
Carly, not so much. I agree with Simon that her song was very angry, not at all inspirational. It was my least favorite of the night.
David Cook was disappointing, as well. He did OK, but I did not like his song - hated it, in fact - and we've come to expect better performances from him.
Brooke was also disappointing. I mean, c'mon: If there was every a contestant born to sing Carole King, it was her. But she seemed stiff and uncomfortable. She should have been playing the piano - she does much better when she's not just standing there.
Little David was very good, although not his best.
Syesha also did very well.
Standout performance of the night: Jason. His song choice was right on - I love that arrangement of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and it was perfect for him. He did a great job. That's the Jason we found so endearing earlier on.
Hate to say it, but I think it might be Brooke this time.
