Hallelujah! The best man won, and he rightfully deserved it. He was the musically talented of the finalists by far - and it's nice to know the fans appreciated that, and not just another generic pop star.
Don't cry for Little David - I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more from him.
What impressed me most was the entertainment value of the show. I generally fastforward through the guest performances, but I must admit I really enjoyed seeing the contestants sing with the likes of ZZ Top, Bryan Adams and Graham Nash (who sounded great with Brooke White, I might add.) Two highlights for me: George Michael and the USC Marching Band (reminiscent of "Tusk," my favorite Fleetwood Mac song.)
But what was that all-white Brady Bunch dance routine at the top of the show? That was downright painful.
Burning question: After George Michaels' performance, Ryan Seacrest spoke to him briefly. After G.M. said his concert started in San Diego, he said something totally unintelligible to Seacrest, who just smiled and nodded - obviously he didn't undstand him either. I rewound it three times and it sounded like gibberish with a British accent. Anyone know what he said?
