The size of the photographs in our online Photo Gallery was a subject of a little discussion on this blog a few weeks ago. As a result, beginning today we've made an improvement.
The photo gallery posted today, from Monroe summer school classes, features photos that are larger in size than pictures in past photo galleries. I think having larger photos will make viewing galleries much easier and more enjoyable.
Pictures now will be approximately twice the size they used to be in galleries. They will be easier to see and, frankly, it will be easier to tell whether the photo is one you want to purchase if you are thinking of doing so.
Just so you know, we did not go back and resize all of the older photo galleries. There are hundreds of photos in there, and to resize them all would have taken many hours.
When we launched our redesigned Web site in January, we decided to make the photos in our Photo Gallery small. We did this to discourage people from downloading photos large enough to print and make copies. But in the process I think we made the images so small that it was difficult to look at the Gallery photos.
I think the larger photo size we have now still is small enough to keep people from downloading photos, but large enough for people to see and enjoy them.
Tell me what you think.
