Anyone who knows me knows Im not a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Im a bitter Bears fan.
But even this cold Chicago fan can find a little warmth in his heart for what Randy Pink has done to his front yard.
If youve driven past 826 10th St. in Monroe in the past couple of days, you know what Im talking about. Pink got amazingly creative with snow in his yard and created a replica of Lambeau Field.
Really, you have to see it to believe it. I guarantee that the picture you have in your head now of what his creation looks like will be topped by actually seeing it. Wow!
Pinks story will be told in Thursdays Monroe Times, along with some photos of the snow sculpture that would even bring a smile to Vince Lombardis face.
I wanted to tell you about it now, though, in case you wanted to drive by and see it for yourself. With snow in the forecast for the next 24 hours or so, Pink is planning to do what he can to protect the structure by putting a tarp over it.
The story behind the construction of Little Lambeau is funny and, Ill admit, a bit touching. It definitely will be worth reading in Thursdays paper, and I hope you do.
And well also be asking other Packers fans to send us via e-mail photos or stories about how they show their Packer pride. As a Bears fan, I certainly know theres a lot of Packer pride out there!
