NEW GLARUS — The Wisconsin Junior PGA Tour held a Future Tour Scramble at Edelweiss Country Club July 15. Monroe’s Cameron Newcomer and Joseph Rufenacht won the boys 11-and-under division, shooting a 2-under-par 34.
The duo birdied the par-4 second, par-5 third and the par-4 ninth. They had bogies on the par-3 fourth, and par-4 fifth and sixth holes. The highlight of the day came on an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole.
It was the first tournament of the year for Newcomer, and second for Rufenacht, who took 15th place at Janesville Riverside June 8.
Also at Edelweiss on Sunday, the New Glarus duo of Logan Roth and Drew Sjowall finished tied for fifth in the boys 12-14 division. The pair shot a 1-under-par 35 and were five shots off the lead. The duo bogeyed the par-3 fourth hole and birdied the par-4 fifth and par-5 eighth in their first tournament action of the year.
Belleville had two teams in the 11-and-under bracket as well. Casey Hagen and Reid Nolden teamed up to shoot a 6-over-par 42 and Rayden Taylor and Liam Taylor carded an 11-over-par 47.
