MONROE — The Monroe Area Swim Team (MAST) hosted the 67th annual Dr. Stiles meet on Saturday, July 22 where the girls took first with 183 points. The boys tallied 40 points, and together, the team finished third with 223 combined points. Columbus (311.5) and Platteville (246.5) finished ahead of Monroe.
The meet honors Dr. Frank Stiles, who was instrumental in establishing and developing the team.
MAST had eight first-place finishes: Girls 11-12 200 SC meter medley relay (Emma Lucas, Ella Mortimer, Braylin Cleary and Maggie Donahue); Barrett Burg (Boys 11-12 100 SC meter freestyle and 50 SC meter breaststroke); Ella Mortimer (Girls 11-12 100 SC meter breaststroke); Isabella Miranda (Girls 13 & Over 100 SC meter breaststroke); Braylin Clearly (Girls 11-12 50 SC meter butterfly); Nathan Josephs (Boys 13 & Over 100 SC meter butterfly); and Girls 11-12 200 SC meter freestyle relay (Maggie Donahue, Bryn Wellman, Emma Lucas and Ella Mortimer).
The Dr. Stiles meet concluded MAST’s home meet schedule. The team travels to Platteville on Saturday, July 29 for its final meet of the year, which begins at 10 a.m.
