TOLEDO, Ohio — The Green County Gems Gymnastics team came away from the YMCA National Championships June 28-30 with two national champions.

Brynlee Scace took top honors in the Level 1 Age 8 group with 37.75 points. Maryskah Rath was national champion in the Level 1 Age 10 group with a score of 37.3.

Scace finished first on the bars with a 9.5, second in the floor (9.7) and had third place finishes on the beam (9.25) and vault (9.3). Rath was third on the beam (9.325), fourth on the floor (9.525) and fifth in the bars (9.25) and vault (9.2).

Vivian Lancaster was second in the Level 1 Age 8 group behind Scace, finishing with a score of 37.7. Lancaster was first on the floor (9.75), second on the beam (9.325), and third on the bars (9.325) and vault (9.3).

Elsewhere in Level 1, Hailey Rasmussen took sixth in the all-around (36.35) in the Age 7 group, and Anna-Kate Glover was sixth place in the 10-year-olds’ division with an all-around of 36.7, which included a third place on the floor (9.55) and a fourth place on the beam (9.3).

In Level 2, Alexis Gertsch was fifth place in the all-around for 10-year-olds. Gertsch was third on the floor (9.175), sixth on bars (9.05) and eighth on the beam (9.2).

In Level 3, Analise Newcomer (age 8), was national champion in the vault (9.2) and finished 10th on the bars (8.8).

Riley Nicholson, 9, took third place in the all-around. Nicholson was national champion on the bars (9.5), third in vault (9.15), fourth on floor (9.3) and sixth on the beam (9.2).

Elsewhere in Level 3, Gracie Atkinson was third in the vault for 10-year-olds with a 9.15 and nine on the floor (8.95). Desirae Signer was fifth on the beam (9.05) and 10th on the vault (8.875) in the 12-year-old group, and Molly Olson, a 10-year-old, was eighth on bars (9.0).

The Gems had four gymnasts place in Level 4. Claire Holland, 11, was fourth on beam (9.074) and seventh on floor (8.775). Katrina Sathoff, 12, was fifth on the vault (8.6). Gabi Ryser, 13, was fourth in the vault (8.475), and Makayla Eddy, 12, was ninth on the floor (8.725).

In Level 6, 16-year-old Heather Burkhalter took third on the beam with a 9.275.
