MONROE — In its inaugural year as the Gavin Breadon Memorial Youth Wrestling Tournament, the Monroe Wrestling Club (also in their inaugural year) hosted the annual Monroe youth wrestling tournament at the Monroe High School on Jan. 26.

There were 422 overall wrestlers from 44 different teams from Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois, including 46 from Monroe Wrestling Club.

Oregon took home the first place belt, with team trophies going to second place Parkview; third place Milton; and fourth place The LAW.

With the help of many volunteers, including the families of the Monroe Wrestling Club wrestlers, the Monroe High School wrestling team, parents and Monroe wrestling alumni, along with generous donations from businesses and families, the tournament was deemed a success.
