Wrestlers thrive at 3 meets

MONROE - It was a busy weekend for the Mat Rats wrestlers. Wrestlers attended either the Evansville or Mount Horeb/Barneveld Tournaments, and some wrestlers attended the UW Badgers Wrestling Tournament, courtesy of Club Day.

At the Evansville Tournament, in K-2 brackets a second place finish went to Brady Schuh, third place to Dayne Garwell, and Evan Guenther took fourth. Nick Schumacher took second and Brady Wilhite took fourth in the third and fourth grade brackets.

In the fifth and sixth grade brackets Cole Murray took first, second places went to Drake Ingold, Parker Ingold, and Gavin Jordan; and Dempzy Foley took fourth place. First place went to Traiten Gorr and McKenzy Foley took second place in the seventh and eighth grade bracket.

At the Mount Horeb/Barneveld Tournament, K-2 brackets Jack Dubach and Corbin Mann took second place, third place went to Luke Dubach, and Garrett Voegeli took fourth place. In the third and fourth grade brackets, first places went to Garrett Grossen, Bodie Minder, and Kyle Gilbertson.

The Mat Rats will next be in Belleville this coming weekend.

The Mat Rats organization would like to thank the area tournaments and the UW Badgers for a fun filled weekend.

Two wrestlers were missed in last weeks results. Patrick Rielly took second place in the third/fourth grade brackets, and Traiten Gorr took second in the seventh/eighth grade brackets at the Mineral Point Tournament.
