MONROE - It was a busy weekend for the YMCA Mat Rats as the team participated in three tournaments: The Brodhead Beginner Tourney and Stoughton Toughman Tourney on Saturday and the DeForest Youth Tourney on Sunday.
In Brodhead, eight Mat Rats placed in the tourney. Eli Salzwedel placed second. Third-place finishers were Beau Hoesly, Gage Jelle, Molly Patterson, Dominic Vazquez, Tristen Vazquez and Kraig Walter. Riley Goebel placed fourth.
Eleven Mat Rats placed in the Stoughton Toughman tourney. Christian Schuh finished in first place. Bodie Minder and Alex Witt placed second. Placing third were Cole Meighan, Brady Schuh and Garret Voegeli. In fourth place were Logan Clark and Julian Gruber. Jack Dubach took fifth; Jaden Clark placed sixth; and Roderick Rath took eighth.
In the DeForest Tourney on Sunday, Zack Roper placed second and Riley Goebel placed third.
