Wiota pounds Blanchardville in 5 innings

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Wiota baseball team had three players with multi-hit games and took advantage of some wildness by two Blanchardville pitchers to beat the Bullets 13-3 in five innings in a Home Talent Night League game Thursday.

Blanchardville's Chase Norton and Dave Cleary combined walked eight. Wiota's Ben Conway went 2-for-2 and Tommy Meier and Rooney Janecke were each 2-for-3 for the Indians. Wiota (2-3) scored three runs in the first inning and broke the game open with a four-run second to take a 7-2 lead. Wiota's Taylor Wiegel pitched three innings to get the win. He gave up three runs on three hits. Wiegel struck out two and walked three. Janecke pitched two shutout innings in relief and struck out five.

Norton started for Blanchardville and gave up seven runs on five hits. He struck out three and walked five. Cleary pitched three innings and gave up six runs on six hits. He struck out four and walked three.
