Winning weekend for Bantams

MONROE - On Saturday, the Monroe Avalanche Bantam team (11-14 year olds) traveled to Oregon for their first game of the day. Kicking off the Bantams weekend with a 3-1 win, Matt Hodgson had two goals and Jake Trickle added another.

Hodgson and Trickle received assists from Brett Jones, Adam Guy and Tyler Johnson. Goalie Brennan Bescup recorded 37 saves.

In the second game Saturday at home, the Bantams earned another win, 3-1, against Janesville.

Hodgson again had two goals and Eric Bush score the other. Goals were assisted by Trickle and Guy. Bescup had 19 saves in goal for the game.

On Sunday, the team played against Waunakee at home and won 8-3.

Hodgson had four goals, Alex Landen had three goals, and Bush added another. Assists were by Trickle, Landen, Johnson and Brett Jones. Bescup had 22 saves.

The Bantams will be hosting the Dodgeville Ice Wolves at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 20 at SLICE. It will be the final game of the season for the Bantam team.
