GRATIOT - The Albany Comets upended Black Hawk 20-13 in girls softball Thursday.
Albany scored two runs in the third, four in the fourth, six in the fifth, five in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Black Hawk pitchers issued 22 walks against 54 batters, allowing nine hits. The Warriors defense committed five errors.
Comets hurler Katie Krupke pitched all seven innings, walking four and striking out three while facing 43 batters. The defense committed nine errors in the win.
"Katie pitched a good game," Albany head coach Connie Wunschel said.
Carlie Peters, Megan Farley and Kaitlyn Schulz each had two hits for the Comets. Melissa Wellnitz was 2-for-4 with a home run for the Warriors.
