MONROE - Two area prep football teams are ranked in the top 10 by the Associated Press in the state rankings released Tuesday.
Black Hawk (3-0, 1-0 Six Rivers Conference) is ranked fourth in the small school division state poll. Black Hawk is coming off a 68-6 win over New Lisbon.
The other area ranked team is Pecatonica-Argyle, which is 10th in the small school state poll. Pecatonica-Argyle (3-0, 2-0) is the defending Six Rivers Conference champion. The Vikings are coming off a 51-14 win over Benton-Scales Mound, Illinois, last week.
There will be a big showdown Friday as Black Hawk takes on Pecatonica-Argyle at Blanchardville. The winner will get a leg up in the hunt for a conference title. Pecatonica-Argyle beat Black Hawk 26-0 last year.
