PLATTEVILLE - Junior Colby Argall rushed for 132 yards and scored three touchdowns and senior quarterback Michael Flanagan tossed three touchdown passes to lead the Black Hawk football team to a 51-14 season-opening win over Owen-Withee on Saturday at the Six Rivers Jamboree at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
"I thought it was a really good start to the season," Black Hawk coach Cory Milz said. 'We have some kids with some experience so we expected to come out and be sharp. I was really impressed by how our offensive line played. They played great and were on the field most of the game and it was over 100 degrees on the field."
Black Hawk rolled up 446 total yards, which included 314 rushing yards. Black Hawk senior Brody Milz rushed for 127 yards on 13 carries.
Flanagan completed 7 of 11 passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Rece Shelton had two receptions for 73 yards and one touchdown.
"For us to be able to throw the ball and run the ball is important," Milz said. "We know we are not going to just be able to run the ball all the time against every team."
The Warriors limited Owen-Withee to 118 rushing yards.
Black Hawk will host Potosi-Cassville in a Six Rivers Conference showdown on Friday in South Wayne.
