SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk coach Corey Manlick wanted to get the ball inside.

The Warriors (5-6, 2-3 Six Rivers East) got the message and had some success with an inside-outside attack that keyed a 72-53 non-conference win over Durand (Ill.) on Saturday.

"We did a nice job of getting the ball inside and down low," Manlick said. "It created some opportunities on the outside too. We were very patient on offense. It allowed us to break down their 1-3-1 trap. It allowed us to get layups and easy baskets."

Black Hawk junior Cory Rupnow scored a game-high 20 points. Senior Kyle Woodruff scored 13 points, senior Hayden Schliem scored 12 points and junior Cuyler Meier added 11 for the Warriors.

Darlington 62, Iowa-Grant 39

PLATTEVILLE - Darlington senior Brandon Hardyman erupted for a game-high 29 points to lead the Redbirds to a win over Iowa-Grant.

Darlington (7-5, 3-3 SWAL) broke the game open by outscoring the Panthers 19-7 in the second quarter to take a 13-point halftime lead.

Zach McArthur scored 12 points and Kent Miehe added eight for the Redbirds. The Redbirds made 14 of 19 free throws and Hardyman hit three 3-pointers.
