New Glarus 57, Evansville 30

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Glarner Knights used a 24-7 fourth quarter blitz to turn back the Evansville Blue Devils 57-30 in a non-conference game Thursday. Leading 33-23 to begin the fourth quarter, the Glarner Knights used their defensive pressure to take control of the game. "We were pressing the whole game and we just buckled down and turned turnovers into points," said New Glarus head coach Megan Scheele. "We played really well overall and we played great team defense."

The Glarner Knights were led by junior Anya Schween with 17 points and senior Alycia Atwell with 12 points. With the win, New Glarus evened its record to 1-1 and nearly doubled the number of points they scored in a 53-30 loss to Black Hawk earlier in the week.
