Jon Becker: The junior rushed for 118 yards and scored a touchdown in the Cheesemakers' 33-11 loss to Milton Oct. 1.
Leanna Schwartzlow: The senior had a hand in winning four events in a dual meet against Oregon. Schwartzlow won the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2 minutes, 34.81 seconds and she finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.69). She was on both the winning 200 freestyle and 200 medley relays. She swam the anchor leg in the 200 freestyle relay and helped the Cheesemakers edge Oregon by two seconds.
Joel Henry: The junior finished sixth with a time of 17 minutes, 3 seconds in the large school division of the Platteville Invitational. Henry helped the Cheesemakers take second place behind Dodgeville-Mineral Point.
Area Boys
Jared Johnson, Pecatonica-Argyle: The junior rushed for 141 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Vikings to a 27-18 Argyle homecoming win over seventh ranked Shullsburg.
Michael Walker, Black Hawk: The junior rushed for 64 yards, scored a touchdown, had three sacks and a forced fumble in Black Hawk's 41-6 homecoming win over Weston Oct. 2.
Mason Lockard: The senior scored three touchdowns including a 4-yard TD run, a 33-yard blocked punt for a touchdown to lead the Glarner Knights to a 35-7 win over Wisconsin Heights. With the win, New Glarus-Monticello (6-0) remains unbeaten.
Area Girls
Taylor Douglas, Brodhead: The sophomore had 13 digs, 26 assists, four blocks and two aces in a 25-16, 25-23, 9-25, 21-25, 15-13 win over Clinton Sept. 30.
Cheyenne Wolfe, Darlington: The sophomore took second in the small school division at the Platteville Invite. She ran the 4,000-meter course in 15:58 to help the Redbirds win the small schools title.
Courtney Pfeuti, Albany: The senior had 29 assists and 14 digs in a 25-11, 25-23, 25-19 win over Barneveld.
