Monroe

Taylor Riese, Baseball: Riese went 2-for-5 and had a game-winning RBI single to help the Cheesemakers come back from a 6-0 deficit to beat Madison Edgewood Friday. Monroe played a doubleheader at Portage Saturday.

Kylee Ritschard, Soccer: The junior has helped the Cheesemakers get off to a 2-0 start. She scored three goals and had two assists in a 7-0 season-opneing win over Dodgeville. She followed that up with two goals and two assits in a 6-1 win over Wisconsin Heights.

Kendra Clark, Softball: Clark went 2-for-3 and had two RBI in the Cheesemakers' 4-1 win over Milton to open the Badger South Conference season. Monroe played in the Watertwon Invite Saturday.

Area Boys

Alex Erickson, Darlington Track and Field: The junior was named the most outstanding male athlete at the Darlington Invite after winning the 200 (:23.28), 400 (:52.72), long jump and he had a hand in winning the 1,600 relay.

Colton Hackett, Darlington Baseball: The Redbirds are 3-0 and Hackett was 3-for-4 in their last game.

Devin Jeglum, Pecatonica Baseball: Jeglum had a double and home run in the Vikings' sweep of Highland and went 3-for-4 in Pecatonica's win over New Glarus.

Area Girls

Kelsey Bernet, Monticello Track and Field: The senior won the 1,600 and 3,200 at the Darlington Invite. She also won the 1,600 and 3,200 at a meet in Orfordville Tuesday.

Tia Collins, Brodhead Softball: The junior went 3-for-4 and had three stolen bases in Brodhead's 4-2 season-opening win over McFarland. Brodhead played in the River Valley Invite Saturday.

Katie Viney, Sugar River Soccer: Viney scored three goals in a win over Portage-Poynette.
